Job Summary
The Manager, Contracts is responsible for leading the organization's contract strategy, governance, and lifecycle management processes to support revenue growth, profitability, and business objectives. Partnering closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and other key stakeholders, this role develops and executes contracting and pricing strategies, oversees complex RFPs and contract negotiations, manages major renewals, and ensures contract compliance and risk mitigation.
This role will also serve as a key advisor on contracting best practices, process improvement, and policy governance while operating with significant autonomy and influencing strategic business decisions. This role is responsible for the drafting, negotiation, execution, and lifecycle management of contracts and pricing agreements that support business growth and competitive positioning and will also lead and develops a team of Contract Analysts and Contract Administrators, ensuring contractual commitments are accurately implemented and that Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Finance teams have the information necessary to drive compliance, performance, and contract utilization.
Job Details/Responsibilities
Pricing & Contracting execution:
- Lead national and enterprise‑level contract strategy across Terumo Medical Canada Inc. (TMCI) business units, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives and pricing governance.
- Oversee negotiation strategy and execution for major RFQs, RFIs, RFPs, renewals, and pricing agreements; coordinate cross‑functional inputs and ensure competitive positioning.
- Develop and maintain contracting frameworks, calendar, pricing governance models, and policy recommendations to support consistent and compliant contracting practices.
- Partner with Legal to review contract language, assess risk, and ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Oversee rebate and admin fee programs at a strategic level; ensure accuracy, compliance, and financial optimization. Responsible for timely submission of periodic reports.
- Coordinate with sales and marketing to develop promotional pricing strategies and product initiatives to enhance contract utilization and compliance.
Operational effectiveness:
- Enhance operational systems, processes and policies to support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning across TMCI.
- Conceptualize, create, and distribute SOP documentation defining the proper utilization of web-based contract management application.
- Establish system and reporting metrics to assist in the diagnosis of end user issues and design modifications to ensure timely problem resolution in an effort to keep the system current and aligned with the needs of the business.
Team management & stakeholder partnership:
- Manage, develop, coach the contracts team members, setting goals for department and team members and standards for evaluation and advancement.
- Train and coach team and internal customers on operational SOPs, ERP systems, and the use of various reporting tools
- Lead cross‑functional initiatives to improve contracting processes, tools, and data integrity; champion continuous improvement.

Qualifications/ Background Experiences
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years’ experience in contracts management within the medical device and/or healthcare industries required or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Master’s degree preferred.
- Must have demonstrated success in leading and managing with at least 2 years of management experience, preferably managing a contracts management team in medical device or life sciences field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with ERP packages, EDI and systems integration, preferably JDE and/or SAP. Preferred hands-on experience with Power BI.
- Demonstrated experience leading major RFPs, national contracts, or enterprise level negotiations required.

Final compensation packages may be higher or lower than what is listed, and will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, internal equity, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand. Pay range: $88,600 - $124,300
